He announced this at an informal meeting of the UN Security Council on the "Arria formula".

"In 2022 and in January-February 2023, there were about 300 raider seizures of UOC communities," TASS quoted him as saying.

Nebenzia noted that since October last year, the Ukrainian authorities have been conducting mass searches in monasteries and communities of the UOC throughout the country without legal grounds. According to him, the SBU has already conducted 100 searches in monasteries, churches and administrative buildings of the dioceses of the UOC.

"Almost 250 clerics of the UOC were banned from entering the territory of Ukraine. In total, 61 criminal cases have been initiated against the clergy of the UOC," Nebenzia said.

On May 11, Russia's First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, announced an informal meeting of the UN Security Council on the persecution of the UOC.

Prior to that, Nebenzia demanded that the OSCE respond to the oppression of the rights of believers in Ukraine.
