In this eleventh package of restrictive measures against Russia intended to avoid the circumvention of European sanctions, seven Chinese companies are in the sights of the European Union. "The aim is to prevent goods banned from exporting to Russia from finding a way to supply the Russian military complex," European Commission spokesman Eric Mamer said.

One already sanctioned in the United States

Among these Chinese companies, one is already subject to US sanctions. This is King-Pai Technology, a group accused by Washington, of supplying equipment to the Russian military industry.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted and announced retaliation in the event of European sanctions. China urges the EU not to go down this "wrong path" or it will take firm measures to safeguard its rights and interests, Beijing said. EU member countries could also impose sanctions on Iranian companies involved in manufacturing and supplying drones to Russia.
