On May 6, Prilepin's car was blown up in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The driver was killed, Prilepin himself was injured. The UK qualified the incident as a terrorist attack.
On suspicion of attempting to assassinate Prilepin, Alexander Permyakov was detained, who, during interrogation, admitted that he had acted on the instructions of the special services of Ukraine.
