Brive can still believe it

While they were promised hell, namely an inevitable descent into Pro 2, the Coujous have proved, with strength and courage, that they should not be buried too quickly. At the end of a completely crazy game, the CAB, although reduced to 14 from the 22nd minute, managed the tour de force to win, beyond the siren, on the lawn of Montpellier, the defending France champion (who certainly said goodbye to his title with this new defeat at home). What courage and self-sacrifice of the Brivistes who believed in it to the end! With this success, they are now only four points behind Perpignan (read below), two days before the end of the regular phase. It remains to be confirmed against Castres in Amédée-Domenech and against the great Stade Toulousain. No small feat.

The Racingmen are repositioning themselves

A day with, a day without. We got used to everything this season with Racing 92. This Saturday, we were treated to Racing flamboyant and impressive offensively. After the big slap received against Perpignan, Laurent Travers' players pulled themselves together, in their Arena of Nanterre, correcting the Aviron Bayonnais with seven tries to the key. With this greatly improved success, the players of the 92 go back in the top 6 in front of Lyon, before Bordeaux-Bègles and Toulon play. For rowing, the crazy hope of participating in the finals is moving away. The Basques fall to 8th place with 54 points.

FLOPS

Perpignan by all emotions

The end of the Lyon-Perpignan and Montpellier-Brive matches were totally breathless. Full of suspense. The Perpignais, with a reshuffled team, were close to dropping the LOU in Gerland, but two tries at the very end of the match from Couilloud (76th) and Gomez Kodela (78th) crucified the Catalans. And it was on the screens of their smartphone that the Usap players followed the end of the match and the victory of Brive. A Corrèze success that puts them under pressure before receiving Toulouse and going to Castres. Everything suddenly became very complicated for the people of Perpignan...

The big relapse of Castres

After strong turbulence, Castres Olympique had found colors by signing four successes in a row in the Top 14 (including a success in Montpellier). Moving away from the red zone and almost ensuring its maintenance. But the week was complicated in the Tarn with the announcement of the departure of Argentine opener Benjamin Urdapilleta to Clermont. And, on the field, this resulted in a large defeat at the Hameau against the Section Paloise. Result: 5 tries in the musette and only 3 small points scored, on penalty, by... Urdapilleta. Mathematically, the OC is 10 points behind Usap before going to Brive and receiving Perpignan, two starving teams who are fighting for maintenance.
