【ASEAN Special Line】14 ASEAN media visited Huaihua, Hunan to explore new opportunities for inland opening up and development

Huaihua, May 5 (ZXS) -- With the opening of the first Hunan (Huaihua) RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) Economic and Trade Expo in Huaihua on May 5, 5 ASEAN media, including Malaysia's Sin Chew Daily, the Philippines' Lianhe Daily, and Cambodia's Huashang Daily, also officially launched a week-long "Walking China - 14 ASEAN Countries Mainstream Media Huaihua Tour" interview activity to explore the development opportunities and potential of complementary industrial exchanges between Huaihua and ASEAN.

Located in the southwest of Hunan, Huaihua is located in the center of the border areas of the five provinces (autonomous regions and cities) of Xiang, Hubei, Chongqing, Qian and Gui, known as the "gateway of Yunnan and Guizhou" and "the throat of Quanchu", and is an important node city on the eastern route of the new land-sea corridor in the western part of the country "Chongqing-Huaihua-Liuzhou-Beibu Gulf", and is also the only freight gathering center facing ASEAN in Hunan.

In recent years, Huaihua has given full play to its role as an international dry port and opened up three international logistics corridors facing ASEAN, including Huaihua-Guangxi Beibu Gulf/Guangdong Zhanjiang Port/Guangzhou Port (rail-sea combined transport channel), Huaihua-Yunnan Mohan-Vientiane Laos (China-Laos Railway), Huaihua-Guangxi Pingxiang-Vietnam Hanoi (China-Vietnam Railway), and initially built an open pattern of "serving the whole country, connecting ASEAN and connecting business to the world".

"This is my first time in Huaihua and I am looking forward to this trip." Dong Bacui, editor-in-chief of the Philippine Lianhe Daily, said ASEAN is one of China's important trading partners. With the implementation of RCEP, it is believed that Huaihua has great prospects for economic and trade exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries.

Gao Ying, special liaison of Thailand's Headline News Agency in China, said that Huaihua International Dry Port, as a logistics hub vigorously promoted by the local government, will play an important role in promoting cooperation between Hunan and ASEAN countries. "Huaihua's unique advantages are worth promoting to the outside world and letting more people overseas know."

The first Hunan (Huaihua) RCEP Economic and Trade Expo, which opened on the same day, aims to provide a cooperation platform for RCEP member countries to carry out international trade and display development achievements, especially to build a new economic and trade exchange and cooperation platform for provinces, autonomous regions and cities along the new land-sea corridor in the west to deeply connect with the RCEP market. 14 media will participate in the whole conference and experience the in-depth exchanges and many business opportunities between Huaihua and ASEAN in economic and trade aspects.

It is reported that the media of ASEAN countries will also visit Huaihua's Chinese, Lupu, Yuanling, Zhijiang and other counties, visit traditional Chinese ancient villages, appreciate the intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minorities, experience the tea making craft of Jietan, and visit Zhijiang and Peace Lake at night to feel the natural scenery and folk customs of Huaihua.
