In his address, the political scientist noted that domestic and foreign medical experts have repeatedly noted that regular consumption of products of fast food establishments (fast food), which has a high content of sugar, salt, fats and the like, can cause significant harm to health, especially to underage consumers.

At the same time, he believes, fast food chains themselves are interested in increasing sales and use all sorts of mechanisms for this, including promotional ones (coupons, selling two dishes for the price of one, lowering prices at certain hours, and so on). As a result, such a trade policy provokes consumers to excessive purchase and consumption of these products, Orlov stressed.

"In this regard, I ask you to consider the advisability of amending the regulations regarding the introduction of restrictions for fast food establishments on the use of the mechanism of shares to attract customers and increase trade volumes," the text of the appeal says.

Earlier, endocrinologist Rusanov called margarine and fast food harmful because of the high content of trans fats.
