The coronation of King Charles III will take place in a few days. A highly symbolic moment for this new sovereign, at the head of the British monarchy for only eight months. But on the streets of London, the British are divided about it.

The countdown begins in the UK. In four days the coronation of Charles III will take place. For the occasion, a large part of the nation will mobilize to attend the event. But a few days before D-Day, in this working-class district of north London, opinions on the first months of King Charles III diverge, even if they remain rather positive.

"In a way, I think the biggest compliment we can give him is that we didn't notice any big differences. And I don't think he made any missteps," notes the Londoner at the microphone of Europe 1. "To be honest, in my opinion, he is doing very well, because he supports Ukraine. It's important to me, I'm Ukrainian. I'm proud of him," adds another passer-by.

Radical change

Ukraine is one of the subjects on which the king did not hesitate to pronounce, especially during his first state visit to Germany, during a speech in the Bundestag. "We can rejoice in our unity in the defense of Ukraine, for freedom and peace," he told German lawmakers.

From diplomacy to climate change, Charles III did not hesitate to give his opinion on current issues. A rather radical change from Queen Elizabeth II.
