CAIRO - Egyptian actor Mustafa Darwish passed away a few hours ago, as his brother announced the news of his death through his Facebook page, saying, "Stay for God, my brother Mustafa Darwish died to the mercy of God," and revealed the date of the funeral on Monday after the afternoon prayer from the Hosary Mosque in the Sixth of October area (west of Cairo).

He added that the family will receive condolences after sunset prayers at the police mosque in al-Khamael in Sheikh Zayed.

A member of the Board of Directors of the Acting Professions Syndicate, actress Nihal Anbar, revealed – in statements to a local website – that the cause of sudden death is cardiac arrest.

Shock in the artistic community

The news of his sudden death shocked the artistic community, as a number of artists were keen to mourn him through their pages on social media.

Artist Mohamed Henedy mourned him and wrote on his official Facebook page, "Survival is for God. May God have mercy on him and give patience to his family, O Lord."

Artist Youssef Sharif wrote on Twitter: "We belong to God and to Him we return... May God have mercy on the artist Mustafa Darwish and grant him a spacious paradise and inspire patience and solace to his family and lovers."

Artist Ahmed al-Awadi mourned him on his Facebook page, saying, "We belong to God and to Him we return. Died to the mercy of God Almighty artist Mustafa Darwish, we ask you to pray for him mercy and forgiveness."

Actress Reham Abdel Ghafour mourned him by posting a picture of them from the scenes of the series "A Quarter of a Carat" and prayed for mercy on him.

The artist Asser Yassin also posted a photo of his reunion with the late artist and commented on it, "We belong to God and to Him we return. Shocking and sad news, may God have mercy on you, Mustafa, you were one of the kindest and most generous people, I really lost a brother, please pray for him and may God be patient with us all."

Hasna Mustafa Darwish Hidden

A number of Mustafa Darwish's close associates were also keen to talk about his charitable work; under the title "Mustafa Darwish's hidden goodness", journalist Mustafa El-Baz commented on the news of his death and wrote, "May God have mercy on you, Mustafa, Darwish."

He revealed an apartment where Mustafa Darwish and a group of his friends were collecting charitable contributions of money, food and clothes, and he was looking for the needy himself to help them and was happy to help people more than his success in a work of art, and he refused to talk about the apartment of goodness, and says that it is "a hidden good deed that he does not want to talk about."

Journalist Abeer Abdel Sattar revealed on her page that the artist Mustafa Darwish was participating in the meals she prepared throughout the month of Ramadan, in addition to his participation in buying medicines and monthly aid for the needy, and the last work he did was buying clothes for orphaned children and insisted that they buy clothes themselves.

Mustafa Darwish began his career in a small role in 2011, where he was nominated by director Khaled Youssef to present the character of an officer in the film "Kaf Al-Qamar", and in one of his meetings he revealed that he was in filming with friends by chance and was nominated.

Then his first appearance in the world of television drama was a year later when he participated in a small role in the series "Kid Al-Nassa 2", and then participated in the series "His Excellency" with Adel Imam.

She has moved in small roles in works such as "Above the Level of Suspicion", "For the Highest Price", "Tales of Girls", "Against Unknown", "Ayoub", "Abu Omar Al-Masri" and "My Story".

His successes in recent works made him present this year with more than one character in the last Ramadan season a few weeks ago, so he participated in 4 series, and achieved success in the character of Omar in the series "Full Number" in front of Dina El-Sherbiny and Sherif Salama, in addition to the character of Omran in "His Secret Al-Bata" with director Khaled Youssef, and participated in the series "Talt Al-Talata" with Ghada Abdel Razek, along with "X Lance" with Mohamed Saad.

Two films awaiting release

In addition to his television work, Mustafa Darwish was waiting before his death for the release of two films that were filmed a while ago, the first is the film "5 Rounds", starring the young actor Adam Al-Sharqawi, and its presentation was postponed from the Eid Al-Fitr film season, as well as the film "Shamarikh" with director Amr Salama and starring the artist Asser Yassin, and the two films are expected to be released during the current year.
