In Montana, gender transitional hormone care is now prohibited for minors. The law was ratified on Friday, April 28 by Greg Gianforte, the Republican governor of this northern state. A controversial law, since it led to the expulsion of a Democratic elected representative from the Montana legislature during the debates. An example of the debates in the United States regarding minority rights.

The next time you bow your head to pray, I hope you see the blood on your hands. This is the direct attack of a Democratic congresswoman from the rostrum of the Montana legislature.

She thus evokes the potential suffering of transgender minors, deprived by this law of the care necessary for their transition. Following this speech, Zooey Zephyr, herself transgender, was suspended from parliament until the end of the session in May for "non-compliance with protocol".

The outrage was even shared by the governor's son, David Gainforte, who took a public stand against his father. Revealing for the first time its non-binary. It refers to a law that is "immoral, unjust and against human rights".

Montana has already banned transgender people from changing their birth certificates and has limited the broadcast of drag shows to children. Since January, 29 new laws violating the rights of transgender people have been passed in 14 U.S. states.
