China News Network, April 4 China Meteorological Administration held a press conference on the 28th, Jia Xiaolong, deputy director of the National Climate Center, introduced at the meeting that it is expected that there will be three main cold air processes affecting China in May, and the time and intensity are: early (strong), late middle (weak) and late (weak).

At the meeting, Jia Xiaolong introduced the forecast of climate trends in May.

Precipitation: It is expected that in May, northeast and west of Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, northern Jilin, western Shanxi, central and northern Shaanxi, Ningxia, central and eastern Gansu, central and southern Zhejiang, southern Anhui, southeastern Hubei, most of Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, eastern Guangdong, Taiwan, southwestern Tibet and other places will have more precipitation than the same period of the year, of which western Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, northwestern Shaanxi, eastern Gansu, southwestern Tibet and other places are 5~2% more. The precipitation in other parts of the country is close to the same period of the year or less, of which most of Yunnan is less than 5~2%.

Temperature: It is expected that in May, the temperature in northeast and west of Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jilin, western Shanxi, central and northern Shaanxi, Ningxia, north-central Gansu and western Tibet is lower than the same period of the year, among which the central and eastern Heilongjiang, southwestern Tibet and other places are 5~1 °C lower. The temperature in the rest of the country is close to the same period of the year or high, among which Fujian, central and southern Jiangxi, central and southern Hunan, southern Chongqing, Guizhou, southern Sichuan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan and other places are 2~1 °C higher.

In terms of cold air: It is expected that there will be three main cold air processes affecting China in May, and the time and intensity of occurrence are: early (strong), late middle (weak) and late late (weak).

Jia Xiaolong said that according to the weather trend forecast in May, there are four aspects of meteorological service tips:

The first is to prevent the adverse effects of low precipitation and high temperature on agricultural production and forest and grassland fire prevention. It is expected that in May, the temperature in the southwest and the south will be high, the precipitation is low, the meteorological drought will continue, there is a risk of moderate or above meteorological drought, we should seize the favorable weather to carry out artificial rainfall enhancement operations, strengthen the water storage and water preservation work of ponds, dams and reservoirs, and ensure the water demand of crops. Less rain and dryness lead to high fire risk level in forest and grassland, and fire prevention should be done.

The second is to prevent the adverse effects of sand and dust weather in the northern region. It is expected that in May, the risk of sand and dust weather in the northern region will be greater, which may affect the atmospheric environment, outdoor construction, human health and travel safety, etc., and it is recommended that municipal, environmental, road traffic and outdoor construction sites take timely countermeasures.

The third is to prevent secondary disasters caused by heavy rain and strong convective weather. It is expected that in May, most of South China, Southeast China and South Central China will receive more precipitation than the same period of the year, and there will be a moderate risk of heavy rainfall in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is necessary to pay attention to preventing secondary disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and debris flows that may be caused by heavy precipitation in stages, as well as urban and rural waterlogging, strengthen the inspection and investigation of hidden danger points, and do a good job in the evacuation and transfer of key groups; Dredge ditches in advance to remove stagnant water in the field in time to reduce the risk of waterlogging in farmland.

The fourth is to prevent the adverse effects of periodic high temperature weather in Yunnan and southern China on human health. It is expected that in May, the temperature in Yunnan and southern China will be high, and it is necessary to pay attention to the adverse effects of possible periodic high temperature weather on human health and energy security.
