"As a result of a fire in the village of Logoushke, Ketovsky district, a woman died, about 70 buildings were destroyed by fire. On this fact ... a criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Negligence")," the ministry said in a statement.
The investigation believes that the fire was the result of possible negligence on the part of officials who did not take the necessary measures to ensure the fire safety of the settlement during the fire hazard period.
The investigative team continues to work at the scene.
Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia said that in the village of Logoushka, Kurgan region, open burning was eliminated.
