On Thursday, the investigator Ulrika Liljeberg presented the proposal on how municipalities should be compensated for establishing wind farms.

During the proposal, Ulrika Liljeberg emphasized how it has been brought up from northern Sweden that the municipalities need to be replaced for reasons of fairness. There they have looked towards the income of neighbouring countries.

For example, in Finland they receive SEK 330,000 per year from an onshore wind turbine.

The minister does not want to see tax

Climate and Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari (L) was asked after the press conference if the government will review a model that would give municipalities compensation through tax.

Pourmokthari (L) is against that solution because it would mean reduced revenue for the state.

– We are more interested in reviewing all models related to incentives between the wind power company and the municipality, says Romina Pourmokthari (L).

In the clip above, the minister explains why they do not want to see more taxes for municipalities.
