The journalists of the publication note that the militant brigade is now trying to recover from heavy combat losses in order to play an important role in the "next major offensive of Ukraine": the unit expects to recruit 6500 new fighters to ensure combat capability.

This was reported to the American newspaper by the acting commander of the brigade, Bogdan Krotevich, who returned from Russian captivity.

"Ukraine seeks to prove that it can stand up to Russia and is still worthy of support from foreign patrons who have invested billions of dollars in weapons in this war," the article says.

Speaking about the upcoming offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Krotevich told the publication that the Ukrainian army can use the experience of the conflict in Chechnya, using the strategy of "capturing small Russian cities as leverage."

Earlier, RT DE correspondent Ivan Polyansky visited the basement of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, which was used by Azov militants as a refuge.
