The high temperatures expected on April 27 in Spain are prompting exceptional measures. In Madrid, the authorities plan to change school hours so that students suffer less from the heat, Barcelona is increasing its climate shelters for fragile people – especially the elderly – and the cities of Cadiz or Almeria limit working hours to the morning in the construction sector.

Little by little, cities and the country are trying to adapt to the exceptional temperatures that had never been seen before during the month of April. In Castile or Aragon, it is above 35 ° C, and in Andalusia, it is not far from 40 ° C, which makes meteorologists say that this spring is actually an early summer.

For agriculture, without any rain, it is already a disaster: a large half of the cereal crops are given as lost. The government has released more than one billion euros to help Spain's 820,000 farmers. The risk of fire is greater than ever. On the health side, professionals warn of the risks of diseases, including cardiovascular diseases.
