"The group of Russian journalists who were supposed to accompany Lavrov to New York were not issued visas, and until the last moment the Americans pretended that they were working, the solution was about to be found - this is a game of nerves, this is a mockery, this is another reflection of the fact that colleagues in Washington are not something that cannot be trusted, they simply should not be listened to," he said.

Over the past few days, Russia has repeatedly appealed to the United States on this issue, but the result is deplorable, despite the fact that Moscow was given assurances that "visas are on the way." This lie does not paint the country hosting the UN headquarters, the deputy minister said.

"Journalists were supposed to cover the most important event in the framework of the Russian presidency of the Security Council ... We will find ways to respond to this, so that Americans will remember for a long time that this is not done. And they will remember it," Ryabkov stressed.

On April 23, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the United States still did not issue visas to Russian journalists to fly to New York for a meeting of the UN Security Council, despite the fact that the American embassy announced "work on this."

Sergey Lavrov at a press conference in Venezuela also said that the United States, when issuing visas to Russians to participate in the UN Security Council, grossly abused the position of the host country of the headquarters of the world organization.
