Prime Minister Kishida's wife, Mrs. Yuko, visited the White House on the 17th at the invitation of Mrs. Jill, wife of U.S. President Joden Biden.

This is the first time that the wife of the Prime Minister of Japan has visited alone at the invitation of the First Lady of the United States.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting was held over tea made by Mrs. Yuko, and then met with President Biden.

They also planted cherry trees in the White House garden to commemorate the friendship between the two countries, and Mrs. Jill said, "Planting this tree is a symbol of the long-lasting friendship between our two countries."

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Yuko told Mrs. Jill that she expects President and Mrs. Biden to be welcomed together with Prime Minister Kishida at the G5 Hiroshima Summit to be held in May.

Mrs. Yuko also visited the prestigious Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she interacted with 7 Japanese students.
