Emmanuel Macron will try to turn the page on pension reform during his televised address on Monday at 20 p.m. It will set the course for the coming months and try to calm the climate charged with electricity. With or without Élisabeth Borne, the Prime Minister remains at Matignon... For now.

Turning the page of the sequence on pensions is the objective of Emmanuel Macron's speech this Monday at 20 hours. According to those close to him, the head of state will set the course for the coming months and define a roadmap for the government. Despite the tensions between the Élysée and Matignon, highlighted ten days ago, the two heads of the executive seem to have rebiboched. Barring a dramatic turn of events, the President should keep Elisabeth Borne in her post, at least for now.

The executive will "accelerate" reforms

As if to show that her mission rue de Varenne is not over, Elisabeth Borne now shows her determination to "accelerate" reforms. Weakened by the cavalier adoption of the law on pensions, the Prime Minister nevertheless seems convinced that the last few days have strengthened her in Matignon.

It was a real survival operation that she conducted last week. After consulting at all costs, she finally found that she was not in a position to expand the majority. The head of government therefore resolves to continue on the line she has defended since her arrival at Matignon: namely ad hoc agreements text after text. This implies that she is willing to take the risk of being defeated on certain bills.

Many consider that Elisabeth Borne will leave Matignon no later than this summer.

It remains to be seen whether this will durably convince Emmanuel Macron to keep her in his post. The presidential camp is divided on the subject, but whatever happens in the immediate future, many in macronia consider that Elisabeth Borne will leave Matignon at the latest this summer.
