The liberation of city blocks, the work of the Airborne Forces and aviation: the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation spoke about the situation in the Artyomovsk region

In the Donetsk direction, assault detachments captured two quarters in the north-west and in the central part of Artyomovsk over the past day, said the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov.

Airborne troops, operational-tactical, army aviation and artillery of the Yuzhnaya group of troops supported the actions of assault units in the area and constrained the enemy's actions on the flanks.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, aviation in the area made 22 sorties. In turn, the artillery of the Yuzhnaya group of troops completed 54 fire missions.

As a result of the strikes, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit in the areas of several settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic.

In total, the enemy lost over 270 servicemen and mercenaries, one tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, seven armored combat vehicles and five vehicles in this direction during the day.

On the South Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia fronts, enemy units in the areas of Vuhledar and Velyka Novoselka (DPR), as well as several settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by air strikes of the Vostok group of troops.

In addition, the activities of the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group were suppressed on the territory of the DPR.

During the day, up to 60 Ukrainian soldiers, two pickup trucks and one Msta-B howitzer were destroyed in these directions. An ammunition depot and a hangar with weapons and military equipment of the 65th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also hit.

At the same time, more than 55 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, three vehicles, a US-made M777 artillery system, as well as Acacia and Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers were destroyed in the Kherson direction.

In the Kupyansk direction, air strikes and artillery of the Zapadnaya group of troops hit units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in the Kharkiv region. Also in this direction, the actions of three Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups were suppressed.

During the day in this direction, the enemy lost up to 35 servicemen and a self-propelled howitzer "Acacia".

Along with this, Ukrainian radar stations of all-round view and target guidance P-18 and 36D6 were destroyed in the Kharkiv region.

In the Krasnoliman direction, air strikes, artillery fire and heavy flamethrower systems of the Center group of troops hit enemy units located in the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics. As a result, more than 70 Ukrainian servicemen, an armored combat vehicle, as well as a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer were destroyed.

Aviation, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hit 95 artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in firing positions, manpower and equipment in 123 districts during the day.

Air defense systems intercepted three rockets of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system. In addition, four Ukrainian drones were destroyed.

Destruction of British mercenaries

Also, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that the assault detachment of the Central Military District (CVO) of six fighters stormed the enemy's stronghold, destroying several mercenaries.

According to the department, Russian intelligence officers revealed the location of the fortified positions of militants located in the forest area with the help of drones.

Subsequently, the servicemen of the assault detachment, under the fire cover of tanks, overcame more than 500 m of mined terrain and crawled up to enemy positions, where the battle ensued.

"The fighters, using a large number of F-1 grenades and small arms, destroyed a group of seven British mercenaries and captured a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the capture of positions, several servicemen of the assault detachment were wounded, but, having received medical care, continued to carry out the combat mission, "the Russian Defense Ministry said.

As noted in the department, the capture of the stronghold allowed the Russian military to occupy the dominant height for conducting successful combat operations.
