It was on June 7 last year that a man was shot dead in the district of Lyckans Höjd in Kristianstad. Half an hour later, a 16-year-old was arrested and now convicted of the murder. The boy, who has turned 17 since the murder, is sentenced to juvenile detention for two years and ten months.

The 17-year-old confessed to the murder – but took all the blame and said that no one else induced him to murder.

The prosecution, for its part, has argued that he did not plan the murder alone. Two men, aged 33 and 27, were charged on suspicion of incitement to murder. These are acquitted by the district court. A 22-year-old man was charged on suspicion of aiding and abetting murder and aggravated weapons offences. He is acquitted of aiding and abetting murder but convicted of weapons offences.

Acquitted on two charges

Prosecutors have argued that the convicted boy was actually out to shoot another person and he was therefore also charged with attempted murder and preparation of murder. He was acquitted on those counts.

"All the evidence presented by the prosecutors in this part is so-called circumstantial evidence and through this it is not proven that there was a criminal plan to kill another person," says Judge Catharina Månsson, presiding judge.
