New reactions following the launch of the Hwasong-18 intercontinental missile on Thursday by Pyongyang. After a first immediate military exercise by Seoul and Washington on Friday, the two militaries announced a new air exercise, from April 17 to 28. A new reaction, this time more massive, mobilizing more than a thousand men and a hundred aircraft at the military base of Gwangju, in the south of the country.

On Saturday, South Korea and Japan, near which the ballistic missile crashed, also said they wanted to hold joint military exercises on a regular basis to deter North Korea. At the same time, the South Korean security adviser spoke of Tokyo's integration into the intelligence partnership between Washington and Seoul.

While a similar pact already exists with Japan, this proposal aims to strengthen cooperation between the three countries. The goal is to share more information about North Korea. The issue will be discussed by the South Korean and U.S. presidents at a meeting scheduled for April 26 at the White House.
