Idrissa Seck will be a presidential candidate scheduled for February 2024. The current president of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council said this Friday, April 14 during a long press conference in his city of Thiès. For more than 2h30, Idrissa Seck multiplied religious references and anecdotes, while scratching former president Abdoulaye Wade and declaring his love to his wife. He also confirmed that he had discreetly visited opposition leader Ousmane Sonko on 27 March. "I wish and support the fact that Ousmane Sonko can be a candidate in the 2024 presidential election, regardless of the outcome of the appeal and even cassation trial.
