On the 12th, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference. A reporter asked: The Eastern Theater recently organized a three-day exercise around Taiwan Island, will this exercise have an adverse impact on the peaceful development of cross-strait relations?
In this regard, Zhu Fenglian said that the recent series of counteraction actions organized by the Chinese People's Liberation Army in the Taiwan Strait and its nearby sea and air space is a serious warning to the collusion and provocation between the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and external anti-China forces, and a necessary action to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Zhu Fenglian said: At present, the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces are constantly plotting "independence" provocations, and external forces are stepping up their efforts to "use Taiwan to contain China," seriously damaging the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation and the vital interests of compatriots on both sides of the strait, seriously jeopardizing peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and seriously impacting the prospects for peaceful reunification. All necessary actions we have taken to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity are aimed at "Taiwan independence" separatist activities and interference by external forces, and are by no means aimed at Taiwan compatriots.
At the same time, the broad masses of Taiwan compatriots should further realize the serious harm caused by the provocation of "Taiwan independence" to the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, clearly understand the advantages and harms, distinguish between right and wrong, stand on the right side of history, work with us to resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence" separatism and interference by external forces, and jointly safeguard the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.
