Britain and Pakistan on Friday witnessed demonstrations to protest Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa, attacks on worshipers and shelling of the Gaza Strip.

Hundreds of protesters gathered in front of the Israeli embassy in London, at the invitation of organisations such as the Palestinian Forum in Britain, the Friends of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the Stop the War Coalition and the Muslim Association of Britain.

The demonstrators raised slogans condemning Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa and the Palestinians.

Ben Jamal, head of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in Britain, said: "What happened is not an act of violence, but ethnic cleansing and colonization by illegal settlers."

He added – in a speech – "You will hear the announcement of a ceasefire from the mouths of politicians, but this will not be achieved until the siege on Gaza is lifted and the arbitrary arrests end."

Fares Tamimi of the Palestinian Forum also blamed Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government for what is happening in the Palestinian territories, saying, "It was the British government that established this state at our expense? It is the one that continues to support this rogue state against the law, which the world's largest human rights institutions describe as an apartheid state."

In Pakistan, local media reported that several cities witnessed demonstrations after Friday prayers against Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinians.

Participants in the demonstrations called by Jemaah Islamiyah leader Siraj al-Haq raised slogans and chanted slogans condemning the Israeli attacks.

On Thursday evening, Israeli fighter jets launched a series of raids on targets in the Gaza Strip, while Palestinian factions announced they had confronted the planes with surface-to-air missiles. Palestinian factions responded by firing barrages of rockets at Israeli settlements adjacent to the Gaza Strip.

On Thursday afternoon, 37 rockets were fired from Lebanese territory towards northern Israel, and the Israeli army announced that they were fired towards the Galilee region.

No one has claimed responsibility, while the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that it was estimated that the rocket fire was in response to recent events at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli police stormed the tribal prayer hall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, at dawn and last Wednesday evening, and assaulted worshipers and marabouts by beating and arrested hundreds of them.
