It was during a recording of a TV series that Nina Gunke realized that something was wrong. She kept losing words and therefore contacted the health service. When the investigation was complete, the doctor asked her to bring her husband to hear the results.

"That's when I realised that now it's over," says Nina Gunke.

Being diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia made her feel anxious and ashamed.

"I didn't want to meet people because I thought it was so shameful," she says.

Nina Gunke asked her loved ones not to tell anyone about the disease. Together they participate in Uppdrag granskning's series "When I no longer remember you" where they investigate if there is anything that Nina Gunke and others with Alzheimer's can do to get a better life. Nina Gunke felt that life got better when, after a while, she began to tell those around her about her illness.

"It was a liberation," says Nina Gunke.

The dementia has made it difficult for Nina Gunke to dress – see the clip above where her daughter records a "sweater video".
