Nine months after the fire, the most famous campsite in France has reopened. At the foot of the dune of Pilat, in Gironde, the Flots Bleus will be able to welcome holidaymakers delighted to make their return.

Nine months after the fires that ravaged the Gironde last summer, the emblematic Flots Bleus campsite is reopening its doors. Employees are hard at work. The management will recruit about thirty fixed-term contracts and holidaymakers jostle at the gate to find the campsite.

"I was so happy!"

"Camping des Flots Bleus is open. I was so happy! I took my things and came directly from Paris. I'm a little emotional. They rebuilt a lot of things." Happy to have spent the night in her tent pitched at the foot of the dune of Pilat, Malika has been a loyal customer of the Flots Bleus campsite, ravaged by flames last July.

Reservations at the rendezvous

Essential buildings, the reception, the supermarket and a sanitary facility were spared by the fire. The emblematic establishment welcomes its first guests since the disaster. "We said 50% in April. We kept the bet thanks to all the local companies that worked with us. We have 19 lodge tents, three mobile homes, about fifty pitches. We had planned to book eleven people and we finally have 60, so it happens, "explains Franck Coudert, director of the campsite.

Before the end of this year, with the precious advice of a landscape architect, the director of Les Flots Bleus intends to replant trees in this unique setting.
