Kyrkpunk was started by drummer Dea Nilsson, and photographer Selma Rosenfeld in Falkvikskyrkan in Sölvesborg. They organize concerts once a month that attract young people from all over the region.

– The idea is that it should be a meeting place for and by young people where we can learn from each other, says Dea Nilsson.

Burglary after rope

Church punk is part of the church's music business called The Rock, which was the victim of a burglary last week after a band rehearsed on the premises.

"We think someone has gone in and hidden here while the band has been rehearsing and then worked all night to take what they want. We were very shocked, says Pelle Åberg, director of Falkvikskyrkan in Sölvesborg.

Fundraising started

After the theft, Pelle Åberg has taken the initiative for a fundraiser to be able to continue the music activity Kyrkpunk in Falkvikskyrkan, which Sydöstran was the first to tell about.

"Every penny is worth a lot to us," he says.
