The new propeller planes will replace the previous SK60 trainer aircraft, which are jet-powered.

"It's an easy-to-fly plane. A great aircraft," says Magnus Bragvad, Head of Training at the flight school.

He believes that the Air Force is moving from jet to propeller propulsion partly to do with the cost.

More about what he thinks of the aircraft and pictures of it in the video above.

These three aircraft are the first of ten ordered to be delivered from the German manufacturer Grob Aircraft. The old SK 60 trainer aircraft has been in service since 1967.

About twelve pilots per year will be trained in the SK 40, which is a two-seat turboprop aircraft.
