There is a sense of indignation in the Democratic Republic of Congo after the attack on the night of Saturday to Sunday of Christian Bosembe, president of the Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel et de la communication (CSAC). He was attacked in Paris by people described as "combatants", a term that refers to violent militants opposed to the Congolese authorities.

The video of his assault circulated on the internet like wildfire. We see Christian Bosembe struggling against people, mainly Congolese, who call him a "collaborator" of the Kinshasa regime.

On Sunday, the CSAC met to protest strongly and even demanded "clarifications" from the French government.

That a president of an institution supporting democracy was brutally and cowardly attacked, without any intervention being carried out, while President Christian Bosembe is on an official mission, in consultation with the French authorities. It is very shocking. He was even suffocated. It was an attempted murder of a DRC official. The CSAC demands clarifications and investigations from the French authorities to arrest, try and convict the perpetrators of these crimes. Condemnation until the rejection of these professionals of chaos that the France hosts so that they can also come to undergo the rigor of the law, here in the DRC.

Serge Njibu, deputy rapporteur of the CSAC: "it was very shocking"
