"This is not at all funny, because it is, unfortunately, proof that in international organizations the mechanism of isolating Russia does not work properly," Polskie Radio 24 quoted him as saying.

So Yablonsky commented on the transition of the presidency in the UN Security Council to Russia.

He added that Poland adheres to the position of depriving Moscow of opportunities to influence other countries "through far-reaching isolation."

At the same time, the deputy head of the Polish Foreign Ministry admitted that Russia has many allies in other countries.

Press Secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov earlier noted that Russia's presidency of the UN Security Council will be eventful.

According to him, the Russian side intends to exercise all its rights, remaining a responsible member of the organization.

Prior to this, the White House said that there were no legal ways to deprive Russia of permanent membership in the UN Security Council. This was stated at a briefing by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, commenting on the fact that Russia will chair the UN Security Council in April.

She also recalled that the United States will chair the UN Security Council in August 2023.
