It was in December last year that 19-year-old Moa Lindell went to the emergency room at Danderyd Hospital. After ten hours, she was sent home, despite the fact that she was still in a lot of pain.

A few days later, she went to the emergency room again and it turned out that the appendix had ruptured. She was operated on and discharged again, even though she had not yet recovered. After a few days at home, she had to go in by ambulance, as she had abscesses in her abdomen after the operation.

Have reported to the Patient Board

Moa Lindell and her mother have now reported the incident to the patient board in Region Stockholm. In a response, the doctor responsible at the hospital has regretted what has happened and believes that appendicitis is a difficult diagnosis that sometimes resembles gastroenteritis. Therefore, Moa Lindell was sent home at the first care visit.
