  • Success Eros Ramazzotti conquers the Maestranza in the premiere of his world tour

This Friday, the renowned singer Eros Ramazzotti (59) will land in Madrid to present his Battito Infinito Tour. One of his most ambitious shows, with which he hopes to make the entire WiZink Center fall in love and, this Sunday, at the Palau Sant Jordi, in Barcelona. "I'm very ready. I can't wait to see the Madrid crowd again and have a great night together! In this show I will perform on a high-tech stage and be accompanied by a number of exceptional musicians," he told LOC on Thursday.

"I have decided to present to my audience a show of the highest level and offer them an unforgettable evening. All this, always in the name of music and fun. In the setlist there will be space for both the songs of my latest album Battito Infinito and for the most beloved of the repertoire. It will be a 100% Eros show!" he explained to LOC on one of the most exciting days of his life: the day he became a grandfather.

It's been 38 years since he released his first Spanish-language album. Have you cultivated a love relationship with Spain in these almost four decades? Our love has been going on for many years. But every time I come back... I get excited like it's the first time! I deeply love this country and its culture and feel a little at home every time I perform on a Spanish stage. That is also the reason why I chose La Maestranza de Sevilla for the premiere of the world tour. I can't think of a more magical and history-rich setting than that. Speaking of years and decades, this 2023 you turn 60. What is the secret of his eternal youth? I think it's undeniable that exercise is important at any age. But the main thing, in my opinion, is to always maintain a young spirit. In fact, I don't feel that different from the boy who grew up on the streets of Rome. I feel like I have the same guts and enthusiasm as I did at the beginning. On the other hand, today he has become a grandfather. Congratulations! What would you like your grandchild to learn from you? I'm very excited. I don't know what kind of grandfather I will be, but I am sure that my daughter and her partner will be wonderful parents and I can't wait to take my grandson to the studio. I want to introduce him to the magical world of music, as I have already done with my own children. His daughter Aurora is involved in the composition of one of the songs on his latest album. What was it like working with her? Yes, Aurora lent her voice and helped me write the title track. It was, without a doubt, exciting. To think that I used to take her with me to the studio to take her first steps in music and today she is a wonderful woman... It fills my heart with pride. Speaking of "wonderful women", it is said that in his life there is "a new person", who is no longer single. How is his heart? I can tell you that I am in a period of my life full of love. On other topics, I want to ask you about your life in the countryside and your horses. When was your passion for these animals born? My passion for horses comes from time. In 1986, when I won the Festival di Sanremo, I was given a wonderful horse. Since then I have always ridden and today I have more than one trusted friend with whom, when I am not on tour, I like to spend time immersed in nature to get away from the frenetic pace of everyday life. In the same way, I want to ask you about martial arts, which is something that attracts a lot of attention from your fans. What disciplines do you practice? I practice kyokushinkai karate since 2020, when, following a bad fall, I was advised to start in this discipline to recover my physical shape. I thus discovered an extraordinary world of strength, endurance and discipline, which immediately conquered me. I continue to practice it to this day, also because the training I undergo allows me to cope with the intense rhythms I have to endure with this tour. And he is also passionate about football. Do you like a Spanish team? Barça is one of my favourite teams. I love the way they play, it's unique. He is also a big fan of Alejandro Sanz. He collaborates with him in 'Battito Infinito'. Are there any other Spanish singers you would be interested in collaborating with? Recording Soy con Sanz was an amazing experience. We esteem each other and we are both happy that the audience has received the song so well. I haven't thought about my next duet yet. But, when I start a project of this type, I look for an understanding.I feel with the artist with whom I collaborate. I am always very attentive to contemporary musical trends and there are certainly many young artists that it would be exciting to work with one day. With almost 40 years of career behind you, what motivates you to continue? As long as I still have something to say, I will continue to write and sing. The warmth that the audience gives you when, finally, you meet him live is something unique and irreplaceable. It's one of the reasons I get out of bed every day and travel miles to reach anyone who can get excited about my music. In 100 more years... What do you think will be said about you in the history books? Well, I hope the history books write about someone more important. But I would be glad if it was one of my songs it was sung or remembered again.
