According to reports, the Taichung Fire Department was reported at 30 a.m. on the 10th that a house collapsed in Lane 299, a section of Taiwan Avenue, Central District, Taichung City, and a 1-story house collapsed due to the impact of the construction and excavation of the foundation of the house demolished into vacant land next to it, directly suppressing three construction workers, so firefighters were immediately dispatched to rescue.

After the firefighters arrived, they rescued one worker at about 30 a.m. on the 11th, but there was no sign of life, and he was still treated after being rushed to Taichung Hospital of Taiwan's health and welfare department. By the early morning of the 1st, the second and third workers were rescued one after another, and both were unfortunately killed.

According to the report, the Taichung City police have interviewed Gu Mou, a builder in charge of construction, and You Mou, an excavator driver, on the afternoon of the 30th, and after explaining the case, they were transferred to the Taichung District Procuratorate for investigation on suspicion of "manslaughter". On the same day, the prosecution also went to the scene to conduct an investigation to clarify the cause of the accident.

According to the Taichung City Labor Bureau, the demolition of private buildings is under the jurisdiction of the Central District Occupational Safety Center, Taiwan's labor department, the "Occupational Safety and Health Administration", which has sent personnel to inspect it, imposed a fine of NT$30,<> in accordance with the regulations, and transferred it to the judicial organ for investigation.
