The popular jury has found Leonardo Valencia, the so-called 'tattoo butcher' of Valdemoro, guilty of the murder of Emilce, 18, in 2019 and of desecrating his body by mutilating it, while it has declared his then girlfriend not guilty of covering up the crime.

Legal sources have informed EFE of the decision of the jury, which has not appreciated that there was a special vulnerability on the part of the victim, which would have opened the door to a reviewable permanent prison sentence, as requested by the two private accusations.

The people's court has considered not guilty the other defendant, Celia B.M.A., whom the Prosecutor's Office did not accuse but the private accusations by attributing to her the cover-up of the crime for having allegedly collaborated in the cleaning of the scene of the events and in the purchase of various material with which Leonardo intended to dispose of Emilce's body.

The Prosecutor's Office wants him to be sentenced to 25 years in prison on the understanding that he murdered the 18-year-old on October 16, 2019 because he was obsessed with death, as evidenced by the fact that he had satanic decoration in his house and that he meticulously cut parts of the victim's body to resemble that of a sheet he had hanging.

For its part, the defense argued that it was a reckless homicide and requested that the highly qualified mitigating circumstance of confession and drug use be appreciated, for which he should be sentenced to three years in prison.

But the jury has not considered these mitigating factors accredited, so defense sources have already advanced to EFE that they will appeal the judicial resolution, since they understand "accredited" the confession of the crime by Leonardo when he was arrested by the Civil Guard.

In the trial held in the Provincial Court of Madrid, the defendant stated that Emilce, who had previously tattooed a dagger on her arm, died of asphyxiation when she put on a sadomasochistic mask during sex games in the early hours of October 16, 2019.

In addition, the 'tattoo butcher' blamed what was then his girlfriend for the decision to dismember the young woman to get rid of the body.
