Kristian Hjertén at the Swedish Health Care Association in Uppsala can understand the problems that Camilla Fröjd at Uppsala University shows in her latest research – that it is not a shortage of nurses, but that it is about them doing other people's tasks.

"We have a distribution that is perhaps a little uneven and that you don't do what belongs to your professional role," says Kristian Hjertén.

"Higher pressure"

"For many years, we have seen a change in healthcare where there has been a higher work pressure on those who work. Then it becomes more difficult to be able to prioritize, says Kristian Hjertén, The Swedish Association of Health Care Professionals.

"Even if the division of labour is not even, there is still a certain shortage of nurses. Several regions have announced that they have a shortage, says Kristian Hjertén.
