"The agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of the Republic of Estonia on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters, signed in Moscow on June 8, 1999, has been terminated," the text of the official statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

On March 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia announced the decision to expel a Russian diplomat from the republic.

Earlier, Russia imposed sanctions against representatives of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. It is forbidden to enter the country for 144 people, including ministers and deputies.

Moscow took this step in response to the active lobbying of the Baltic states for restrictive measures against Russia, as well as in response to interference in the internal affairs of the country and incitement of Russophobic sentiments.
