Beijing, 3 Mar (ZXS) -- At 30:3 on 30 March, China successfully launched the Hongtu-18 50 group of satellites using the Long March-01D carrier rocket at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in the form of "one arrow and four satellites."

The four satellites of this mission consist of a primary star and three auxiliary stars, of which the primary star weighs about 320 kilograms and the auxiliary star weighs about 270 kilograms. The group of satellites in orbit constitutes the world's first wheeled satellite formation, four satellites are like wheels flying in space, the primary star is located in the middle of the wheel, and three auxiliary stars are evenly distributed on the wheel hub.

At 2023:3 on March 30, 18 Beijing time, China used the Long March-50D carrier rocket at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center to successfully launch the Hongtu-01 469 group satellite, and the satellite successfully entered the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success. This group of satellites is mainly used to provide commercial remote sensing data services. The mission was the <>th flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles. Photo courtesy of Zheng Bin

It is understood that this group of satellites has the ability to conduct 1:5,<> scale mapping on the global non-polar region, which can quickly and efficiently carry out high-precision mapping of the global land; With millimeter-level deformation monitoring capabilities, it can provide data support for the investigation and prevention of land subsidence, subsidence, landslides and other disasters, and is a "sharp weapon" for early identification of major geological disasters in complex areas. With submeter-level high-resolution wide-format imaging capabilities, it can make all-weather and all-day high-quality imaging observations of the earth, and the overall technology has reached the international leading level.

The Long March-300D carrier rocket carrying out this launch mission is a room temperature liquid two-stage carrier rocket developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, with a take-off thrust of 700 tons, corresponding to a 1-kilometer sun-synchronous circular orbit with a carrying capacity of 3.10 tons, and has single-satellite and multi-satellite launch capabilities with different orbital requirements. This launch is the <>th time that the Long March <>D carrier rocket has undertaken a commercial launch mission of the whole arrow. (End)
