Bedbugs are a problem that has increased in Sweden since 2006. But now Anticimex sees a break in the trend, despite the fact that we are once again traveling more after the pandemic. Fewer efforts were carried out in 2022 than during the two covid years 2020 and 2021, Anticimex writes in a press release.

In 2022, just under 10,500 clean-ups were carried out at the national level – compared to just over 12,600 the year before. In the peak year of 2019, it was sanitized more than 17,900 times in the country.

The louse poses a risk moment during travel, and the probability of success in getting rid of bedbugs that have established themselves on their own is small.

"Therefore, it is important to inspect the bed during the trip and luggage upon returning home to reduce the risk of problems," says Thomas Persson Vinnersten, biologist and pest expert at Anticimex in the press release.
