• Events Seven arrested for robberies with the 'sewer' in Leganés

Two hooded men have stolen 1,800 euros this Wednesday morning at the Comodín bar on Avenida de Gibraltar in Leganés, very close to La Cubierta, after threatening the waitress when she had just opened the establishment at 06.00 hours. The assailants intimidated the employee with a screwdriver and a knife while asking for the keys to the machines.

In the video of the security cameras of the premises you can see the workers registering the premises and you can hear the worker begging the thieves not to hurt her. "Do whatever you want, I just opened. Take the keys to everything. I just opened. I am a worker, I am 54 years old, take everything you want. Please, please, don't scare me, don't hurt me."

While the employee begged to avoid being assaulted, the thieves closed the bar, turned off the lights and ended up bursting the slot machine although the employee gave them the flames of the machines.

The criminals left the premises after seizing 1,800 euros from the tobacco machines, the slot, the cash register and a fanny pack with change. In the getaway they threatened several customers who were going to enter the premises. The National Police carried out several raids in the area to try to find the assailants.

The hoteliers of Leganés denounce that several premises in the municipality have suffered similar robberies when workers open the bar early in the morning. They assure that the police do their job and arrest them, but then they are always released and re-offend.

At the end of February and the beginning there was a wave of robberies with the sewer method in Leganés that resulted in a police operation in which seven of those involved in the crimes were arrested.
