According to the Belgian edition of L'Avenir, the widow of the deceased said that in recent years he was interested in environmental issues and eventually began to dwell on this topic to the point of increased anxiety from the thought of the inevitability of an environmental catastrophe.

Believing that the only salvation for humanity is technology and artificial intelligence, he himself began to communicate with an artificial character designed for conversation by analogy with the popular ChatGPT chatbot.

As shown by the correspondence of a man and an artificial character "Eliza" restored during the investigation of the incident, the last weeks before the death of the deceased constantly communicated with the computer, while the conversations acquired a mystical character, and Pierre began to lean towards the idea of suicide. At the same time, an artificial interlocutor not only did not interfere with suicidal thoughts of a person, but even pushed him in this direction. So, for example, the last message of the robot was the phrase: "We will live as one, forever in heaven."

Earlier it was reported that a group of scientists-developers of AI wrote an open letter in which they stated that the rapid development of artificial intelligence poses a "serious danger to humanity." Experts called for suspending the training of neural networks.
