Before that, in March, Kovalev resigned from RIA Novosti and got a job in one of the companies of investor Ruben Vardanyan, the founder of Troika Dialog. Kovalev began to cooperate with Meduza in 2019.

According to the databases of decisions of the magistrates' courts, Kovalev in different years had debts to two banks. In 2016, Binbank appealed to the magistrate's court with a demand for the compulsory collection of credit debts from it. In 2022, a similar lawsuit was filed against the journalist of Russian Standard Bank.

As previously reported by RT, at the moment Kovalev is abroad.

Earlier, RT reported that Kovalev deleted personal correspondence with friends and colleagues in social networks and stopped responding to messages and stopped conducting social networks.
