After five years living between Scotland and Belgium, the MEP for Junts Per Catalunya and investigated by the 1-O, Clara Ponsatí, returned to Barcelona without surrendering to the authorities despite having a search and arrest warrant in force. She is accused of a crime of disobedience by magistrate Pablo Llarena, for which she would face a penalty of disqualification after the repeal of sedition.

Junts Per Catalunya has asked that she not be arrested, since she has the status of an MEP and therefore considers that she enjoys immunity. On social networks, the secretary general of Junts, Jordi Turull, said that the party expresses "its full support" for Ponsatí "in his decision to return to Catalonia, framed in the field of intelligent confrontation. We are at your disposal for everything you need."

Ponsatí returned by car crossing the French border through La Junquera. The current arrest warrant is for him to testify in court. At the moment, the independence leaders who remain on the run are Carles Puigdemont, Toni Comin, Lluis Puig and Marta Rovira after many have returned in recent months. Precisely this Wednesday will be judged the current consellera Meritxell Serret in the TSJC for disobedience.

CUP deputy Xavier Pellicer also recalled that Ponsatí has "parliamentary immunity" despite the fact that "an arrest warrant weighs on her" and added that "we will be facing any attempt by the State to retaliate against her."
