Yangtze River - the longest river in China. Because its source is called "Zhiqu" in Tibetan—"zhi" means cow, and "qu" is the title of a river—it is called "cow river".

Zhiduo County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is the birthplace of the Yangtze River, known as the "first county of the Yangtze River", and is located in the special geographical area of Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve, Sanjiangyuan National Park and Kekexili World Natural Heritage "Three Overlapping Plus".

In Zhiduo, the source area of the Yangtze River is famous for its beautiful alpine glaciers.

The remains of Sobchaye Ice Valley are the largest, longest and most typical ice valley in the source area of the Yangtze River. It juts out into the Nycha River from the summit of the Gala Snow Mountain at an altitude of 5876,<> meters, and the ice tongue gradually melts with the warmth of global temperatures and the arrival of interglacial periods. This typical landform has important scientific value for exploring the evolution of the Yangtze River, and also adds a popular science education base to Sanjiangyuan National Park.

At the beginning of this year, the Sobuchaye Youth Volunteer Service Team from Dasheng Village, Colorful Township, Duo County, Autonomous County, began a quarterly water resource patrol protection and ecological photography work.

While protecting water sources, the volunteer service team members respect the original ecology, advocate grassroots art, use photography to retain the beauty of their hometown, record the traces of plateau animals and plants with lenses, and guide the herdsmen to actively participate in ecological protection through volunteering, education, service and other means, introduce the protection of "water resources, water environment and water ecology" into thousands of households, and integrate the concept of ecological development into daily life.
