• Castellón The cessation of the wind and the fall in temperatures "open a window" to control the fire in Castellón

The evolution of the fire in Castellón during the night has been positive and continues without increasing neither the area destroyed by the fire nor the perimeter affected, while a score of aerial means begin to work on the area during the dawn of this Monday.

According to Emergencies of the Generalitat, the ground teams (half a thousand people) and the heavy machinery (50 trucks) deployed have favored that the perimeter and the number of hectares affected do not advance and during the night the work of review and refreshment of the terrain has been maintained very selective in the two most critical areas.

One is located in the Arenós reservoir, where the resources are positioned so that the pavesas do not pass to the other side of the control line (the CV-20 road), and the other is located in front of the municipality of Montán, in the Maigmona ravine.

The hectares burned so far remain about 3,800 and the perimeter affected, approximately more than 40 square kilometers. So far it does not affect any natural site, although it does affect Natura 2000 land, and some 1,500 people are still evicted.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, visits from eleven o'clock in the morning the Advanced Command Post (PMA), in Barracas (Castellón), accompanied by the President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, and the Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé.
