It was just before Christmas 2021 that the care committee in Hylte decided to introduce vaccination requirements for all municipal employees in care-related work. In June 2022, the requirement was removed for permanent employees, but was retained for new hires.

Since COVID-19 since April 1 last year is no longer classified as a generally hazardous disease, but "has become a disease like other infectious diseases", the vaccination requirement can now be removed, according to the board. The decision will be made by the care board on Thursday.

At the same time, vaccination is stated to be the best way to avoid serious covid disease. The board points out that in health and social care, it is still important that employees follow hygiene routines, use protective equipment and stay at home in case of illness.
