The journalist called the situation in Europe desperate, noting unprecedented inflation.

According to him, European countries are trying to cope with the help of liquefied natural gas, which "is not produced in sufficient quantities and costs three or four times more expensive."

"They won't have enough gas to keep the people of their countries warm. Not only in Germany, but also in Western Europe," he said.

The journalist also said that there used to be so much Russian gas that Germany could resell it. According to him, "there were companies selling excess Russian gas to other companies," but "all this is now gone."

Hersh noted that Western sanctions on Russia have not worked.

"The sanctions didn't work. McDonalds may have left, but hamburgers are still sold there. The country is not dying, the people there are living for themselves," Hersh said.

In his opinion, "the summer and autumn of this year will turn into a catastrophe for Europe."

"And [that] will fall on Biden's head. He wanted to guarantee himself the possibility of re-election or re-nomination [from the Democratic Party]. It will fail," the journalist predicts.

Also, Hersh in an interview with RT said that Washington threw a new version of the Nord Streams explosions into the media, because the White House knows who set off the explosions and will not investigate these sabotages.
