The Egyptian government approved on Monday a package of measures to facilitate the movement of incoming foreign tourism, including a decision to facilitate the entry of Iranian tourism into the country.

This came at a press conference held by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa, to review a government plan to boost inbound tourism to Egypt.

During the conference, Issa said that incoming Iranian tourism will receive visas upon their arrival at airports south of Sinai, within certain controls and conditions.

Under the conditions set by the ministry, Iranian tourists coming to Egypt receive a visa, if they are coming in tourist groups coming from the same country.

The conditions also include Iranian tourists obtaining a visa through tourist groups organized through companies that coordinate in advance with the Egyptian side.

The Egyptian minister revealed the issuance of a 5-year multi-use visa, "which was agreed to be worth $ 700, and it will be announced that it will be activated soon."

"Inbound tourism to Egypt improved during the first two months of this year, by 30% year-on-year," he said.

"Despite the decline in the number of tourists during the last period from Russia and Ukraine, due to the war, it has seen a significant increase in return from America, France, Italy and Britain," the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities said.
