The Ciel et Blanc, who remained on two defeats before the international break, have recovered and go up to seventh place (51 points), a small point from Toulon (6th), in a tough match, physically engaged but of high quality.

The Parisians, who had conceded on the previous day their heaviest defeat of the season in Toulon (9-37), losing their second place in the standings, missed an opportunity to climb back into the Top 3.

In a white-hot Jean-Bouin, this derby between the club of the capital and that of Hauts-de-Seine was marked by a permanent tension, many scuffles and a very high intensity in the physical fight.

It was Racing who took control from the start of the match, with a first successful penalty by scrum-half Nolann Le Garrec in the 7th.

This good start to the match was however quickly overshadowed by a yellow card from his Tongan second line Vekioso Poloniati, author of a dangerous tackle on the Parisian Romain Briatte.

But, and while the Ile-de-France club was outnumbered, the English winger Christian Wade, on an improbable foot pass from his opener Antoine Gibert, went flattened between the posts, rewarding the domination of the Ciel et Blanc (10-3, 20th).

Las, and while the Pink Soldiers lost their scrum-half Morgan Parra, limping out after being hit in an ankle, and tempers heated on the pitch, Poloniati did it again.

Guilty of a tie on the South African center of the French Stadium Jeremy Ward, he received a red card, logically awarded by the referee Mathieu Raynal.

Racing, while dominating the match, then found itself at 14. But, thanks to a very aggressive and very high defense, preventing Stade Français from chaining phases of play, Laurent Travers' men did not give in.

Better, as soon as the locker room returned, the back Max Spring, after a favorable bounce on a small kick for himself, scored the second try of the Racingmen (17-6, 45th).

Despite a tenacious occupation of the opposing camp, Stade Français, guilty of too much waste, did not manage to regain control of the score, coming up against a big Ile-de-France defense, until finally finding the flaw, by the Fijian back Peniasi Dakuwaqa, in the 78th.

But too late.

On Saturday, Racing will travel to South Africa, at the Lions, in the 8th final of the Challenge Cup, while, in the same competition, Stade Français will host Lyon.
