The head of state recalled that the key tasks of the department are the fight against terrorism, extremism and organized crime, as well as the protection of significant facilities and ensuring law and order.

"I want to thank you for such an effective and conscientious service, for your loyalty to duty and oath, for your commitment to the heroic traditions that were laid down by many generations of your predecessors, starting with the battalions of internal guards," the Russian president said in his address.

Putin expressed special gratitude to the veterans of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as OMON units, SOBR and other services that have become the basis of the modern Rosgvardia.

"I emphasize: at all stages of the formation and development of Rosgvardia, its main support has been and remains the honor and valor of fighters and commanders ... I want to wish you, all military personnel, employees, civilian personnel, veterans of Rosgvardia, your relatives and friends health and success," he concluded.

On March 23, Rosgvardia servicemen near a settlement in the DPR prevented an explosion on a power line.

Earlier it became known that the special forces of Rosgvardia in the suburbs of Mariupol detained a former Ukrainian soldier who is suspected of aiding the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
