This Monday noon, Elisabeth Borne is expected at the Élysée by the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron for a one-on-one meeting before being joined by the bosses of parliamentary groups, party leaders and some members of the government. The Prime Minister's objective is to enlarge the majority.

Emmanuel Macron will receive Monday noon Elisabeth Borne and the main executives of his majority for a meeting on the eve of the tenth day of mobilization against the pension reform, announced Sunday the Elysee confirming information from BFMTV. The president will meet at noon with his prime minister, before being joined at 13:15 p.m. by the bosses of parliamentary groups, party leaders and some members of the government.

"The prime minister will present to the president the roadmap of the consultations she intends to conduct and then she will do it to the leaders of the majority and ministers at lunch at the Elysee," said the presidency. "It responds to the President's request this week to enlarge the majority," she added.

'Enlarging the majority'

The head of state had announced that he had entrusted this mission to Elisabeth Borne, last Wednesday during a television interview with TF1 and France 2 channels. Emmanuel Macron had not given many details on what he expects from the head of government. He had evoked in turn a "legislative program" but with "fewer texts of laws", a "government program" while ruling out, at this stage, the possibility of a "coalition", and inviting him to work "in connection with the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate".

This is at this stage the main way out of the crisis evoked by the executive, after the use of article 49.3 to pass the pension reform which is facing, in the street, a mobilization still very strong.
