"It was never an easy decision, but now was the time. I am particularly proud that we have reversed the membership trend with vigour and that the voice of the Federation of Entrepreneurs in the debate is so strong, says Mårder in a press release from Företagarna.

Mårder became CEO in 2015 and is the longest-serving member since the organization was founded in 1905.

"Getting the organization's finances in order and the growth of members was the task that Günther Mårder was hired to carry out, and I can state that the good results speak for themselves," says chairman Fabian Bengtsson.

A recruitment agency has been hired to start the work of finding a new CEO.

The Federation of Entrepreneurs was formed in 1990 when the Federation of Entrepreneurs and the National Association of Small Enterprises merged. The organization has about 60,000 members in 250 local associations.
